Drawdown!
Action Plan to Reverse Global Warming
Task
Each student will identify their family's carbon footprint and create an action plan to reduce their carbon emissions. Together we will build a movement to reverse global warming.
Over the course of the next two months, you will be creating and implementing your Drawdown: Climate Action Now! Plan. This plan is based on the book Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming. Project Drawdown, www.drawdown.org, is an innovative research project that analyzes and ranks the most effective, existing practices and technologies that can significantly reduce atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases. Some actions may take longer than this project to implement, but the hope is that you and your family commit and follow through over time. Resources will be given to support each section of the plan.
We will revisit this action plan in 7th grade!
