NOTE TO TEACHERS: This project was one part of the original climate change unit that was featured by the Buck Institute of Education as a Gold Standard in Project Based Learning. In the middle of this Face-Place-Story: The Stories and Science of Climate Change unit, where the intent was to humanize the statistics, I came across Paul Hawken's book, Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan to Reverse Global Warming. As much as my students loved this project, I chose to almost completely scrap it. The new unit on climate change is called Drawdown! Climate Action Now and focuses on means to reverse global warming instead of mitigation. There is an accompanying PBL unit that goes with this unit. However, I kept this page with part of the project up as it is referenced in several articles and a book, but I am strongly advocating the shift to climate action instead of climate change awareness and impact.
